Glory a shining example at ALAC

The Australian Little Athletics Championships can be a stressful time for our athletes who have traveled to Hobart and are hoping to put in their best performances.  It is therefore great to have a parent from another State take the time to let us know about the outstanding sportsmanship shown by one of our WA team members:

“During the U13 200m Final my son succumbed to an injury before the finish line.  He managed to cross the line but was unable to put weight on his ankle or walk off the track.

One of your team members Glory Iloh had noticed Tyler’s distress and immediately stopped short his run through to return and assist my son.  He helped him off the track and stayed with him until he had been seen to by medical staff and assisted away (all the while in his running gear in the freezing temps). He continued to follow up with Tyler over the weekend, on his ankle.

The compassion and sportsmanship shown by Glory epitomised what an event like this should be about.
He is a credit to his Family, LA club and your organisation.”

Way to go Glory – competing in a major competition and still taking the time to be a True Sport!
